Cleaning is tough

Whether it is hard drive space or my desk area, cleaning takes some time.

I want to try some new games to record, but I am still in the process of playing through Resident Evil Village. I still have mixed opinions about that game, and I wonder if it will get better by the end. I think I'm near the end? Though in the last recording I'm starting to question who is who.

Also ordered some neat things, however I misjudged my desk area so I have to move some things around, which means to clean the dust. It does mean that I am probably going to get rid of my printer that I never really use anymore. I showed what I got on my instagram, though I'll probably post the before and after when I'm all done.

I thought I would be streaming more, but June had been a bust due to Covid for 2 weeks, and the heat wave we had (where all I had was a dinky fan and no sort of AC whatsoever). Maybe I will start streaming Final Fantasy 14 after I beat A Realm Reborn. I think I'm 4 quests away, so it shouldn't take too long.

Update

Been trying to get back into a rhythm to get daily uploads again. Hopefully my day off on the 5th would help. I wanted to create more videos on July 4th, but I underestimated how late people would be lighting fireworks.

I don't know how much longer I have until I beat Resident Evil Village, but I feel like I am close. It started off pretty well, but there were some bugs/issues that I had to deal with and it felt really fragmented, at least 3 of the areas. I didn't feel this way with the remakes of Resident Evil 2 or 3.

I have also been trying to get back to Final Fantasy 14. Been doing a few quests a day, though mainly trying to get through the main story quest. I don't remember how my level got so high compared to the main story quest level lol.

Covid and stuff

Haven't updated in a while. I was thinking of doing an update last week, but things didn't go to well. It got to the point where I was having shortness of breath and had to go to the ER for it and had to stay a few days at the hospital for it. It's a reason why I haven't uploaded/recorded anything other than the Friday the 13th Killer Puzzle stuff. Luckily I had some backlog that I have been uploading every other day in the past, but even then, there are still more things to record and stuff. I just couldn't do anything due to my health, and my health takes precedence if I had to choose between that and catching up on videos.

Now that I am feeling better, I might ease into the recording process again. I would like to go back to work as well, but I need to get a negative test for that to happen, and I don't know when that will be.

Resident Evil Village and Stuff

So far I am enjoying Resident Evil Village, but I can't say that it is a 10/10 game. It's pretty fun, has some spooky moments, but there are some stuff that I found off putting (so far). On the roof, you encounter these flying enemies, but they tend to clip through and be stuck under the floor for some reason. You could hit them but their stuff will be unobtainable. There has also been a prompt to 'push enemies back' but when pressed, it would just be the same old guarding animation. There are some things in cutscenes I question, but I wonder if they will be answered by the end, or if it is a case of 'video game logic but canon.'

Like my last post, I'm still streaming Guild Wars 2 on the weekends, but I might change it up, with either older games or games that I have recorded in the past but never completed (either in terms of achievements or just in general). The second option could be a motivator to get through my massive Steam collection, while the first one would just be going through my old games backlog. Either way, I'll have to think about it. Guild Wars 2 seems to be the most comfortable for now, but I do want to expand. Still thinking of doing a Sonic thing where I go through all of the Sonics, but I don't know how well that will turn out, DMCA and all.

For now, it is just Resident Evil Village on my Youtube (and my daily puzzle solution) and the occasional interesting game here or there. I do have a video I want to make in the future though regarding some of the mobile stuff I have seen lately.

Started to stream again + Perfected Supraland!

Well, only the base game is perfected. I still need to play the DLC. However, I am taking a small break from the game to continue Resident Evil Village. I recorded another video for Village, and there seems to be no issues! Aside from trying to survive. There were no visible frame drops and no headaches. I did get to see a glimpse of the characters that I think will be future bosses though.

I have also started to stream on the weekends on twitch.

https://www.twitch.tv/andyplaysallnight

So far it is just Guild Wars 2. If I have time throughout the week, I kind of wanted to play different games, like WoW, FF14, Terraria, Hylics, etc. Maybe some throwback games as well. I did record some videos of The Legend of Dragoon but I never continued it. Maybe I could on a stream.

I did get a Streamdeck, though 8 of the buttons are currently in use for my Guild Wars 2 mounts lol. I think at least 4 are going to be used for stream-related things. Eventually I would also want to use my cam as well, but for now there will just be my logo in where the cam is supposed to be.

Finished the main story in Supraland!

I finally finished playing through the main story of Supraland! It was pretty fun and I only really got lost a few times, though it was either because of me overthinking or overlooking things. At first the jump seemed wonky, but I got used to it. I still have questions about the kid that made this entire world, since you see the kid throughout the game. Is it like a Toy Story deal? Or is the entire thing within the kid's imagination?

I like how the game encourages side tracking, and that it doesn't feel like a chore. There were also a lot of references to other things and some quips about them. I also like how you would keep learning new skills with the same items you had over time. It's like a 'this does that too?' moment.

That being said, the enemies that spawn was a little annoying. It was very few at the beginning, but once you get more powerful, there are more that spawn and stronger ones as well. However, it was only a few times where I would feel overwhelmed.

The final boss was basically a 'show the game what you have learned' type of situation since you can't shoot it to death. You have all the pieces, it's just putting them in place. Once you figure out what you needed to do, you still would have to do it as well.

I'll still make more videos for it, since I am still missing a lot of things. Plus I still have the DLC to play. Don't know what is in store for the DLC, but if it is more of what I experienced in the main game, then I am all for it. I wonder if it will take place in the same map or if there is a new area.

I have also started Resident Evil Village. Had some issues with the first 2 parts - the first being that it made me physically sick for a short time with the head bobbing, and the second part had some framerate issues. Going to try the third part without my avatar and see if it will be better.

Supraland is Fun

I think I'm going to try and finish Supraland for my Let's Play stuff before I get to other things. I'm just a little hooked on that game right now. I like how it doesn't feel like a chore to explore off the beaten path and the game overall has this charm to it. It's not super realistic in terms of graphics, but not all games need to be.

I don't really know how much longer I have before I beat the game, but I keep getting powerups left and right, and I keep getting different abilities, like super long jumping with the supraball.

So yeah, I think I'll keep on continuing this for now.

Streaming issues

The main issue I have isn't a technical one. The main issue is that When I get the feeling to stream, I can't really decide on what to stream so I just end up not streaming. I would go into the day thinking of streaming one game, but then when I look at my list, I think, "hey this might be a fun stream game as well" and I keep going through the options thinking that other games might be fun as well. A few moments pass and then I end up not streaming. There are a few solutions - to stream all of them and dividing my time within each game, or stream a different game for each day that I would stream.

I'll figure out something eventually lol.. Hopefully by May or during May.

"Automated" content check

So apparently my Friday the 13th Killer Puzzle guide keeps getting flagged as "This item is awaiting analysis by our automated content check system" even though it has no harmful content and never had that ever. All I have on the guide are youtube videos and a link to the playlist that has all the videos of the daily death solutions. What's more annoying is that this 'automated' system seems to take a few days. The first one took a few days, then everything seemed fine. Then I updated the date and then the notice popped up again. It really doesn't make any sense as to why it does that and why it takes so long..

(Re)Starting new games!

I started two games to record, one of them being No Man's Sky. I recorded some in the past, but decided to do it again since there has been a lot of content added since then. I haven't forgotten about some of the other games I haven't finished (like Chrono Trigger), and I will eventually get to them.

I also started Supraland, and how haven't I heard about this game? I had it on my Steam library, probably through a bundle or something, but it seems really fun! I might do a full series on it, but I keep getting side tracked since the world is so open, but contained within a sandbox (that I know of, anyways).

Adjusting to the new hours

So with the new time change at work, it feels like it is going faster, though I don't know if I will be saying this when the weekend comes around lol..

I do have more time after work, but it seems like I would take a nap sometime after work... hopefully I'll adjust so that I don't feel like that, since I want to try and stream and/or record stuff in the extra time per day and be productive.

I recently got a few VR games, and hopefully I will be able to record them as well.. no idea on how to record my voice... maybe use the Quest 2 onboard mic? Not sure how good that is though.

Hopefully I will be able to record VR since that will be another avenue to try and make videos in.

Thinking about the schedule change

So it seems like there hasn't been any new news about the schedule change at work and it's going along as planned. I have been thinking about it and I feel like it could let me stream daily on Twitch for at least an hour. I don't know how that will effect my uploads on Youtube, but I might ease that if it means I can stream. I might just do older games, though I still want to do Hylics 2... Maybe on Youtube?

Just random thinking for now..

Schedule might change in the near future

So it seems that the idea at work is to shift from 4 10-hour shifts to 5 8-hour shifts, with the start time being earlier, and then we will end earlier. This means I could do the Friday the 13th Killer Puzzle earlier and closer to the day change than I have done now. However this means that I will be working Friday so I don't really know how that will effect my recording schedule yet. I was planning on starting to stream as well, but I could always move that to another day in the weekend.

The change isn't immediate - it will be in 2 weeks, but it is up in the air so it could change. Doesn't seem like it, but it could change.
